Introducing Seth: Prayer Intern

The 2020 interns are a group of seven REACH graduates who will spend the year deepening their relationship with God, serving at the RIC, and being discipled. RI is grateful for their hard work and is excited to see them grow this year. Due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of City Challenge, the interns will take a month-long break from their positions starting on April 20.

Seth grew up in Berne, Indiana, and is excited to be this year’s Prayer Intern. This role includes planning weekly prayer times for the interns, leading prayer activities for the Short-Term Programs, and spending time in personal intercession for RI.

Some of Seth’s favorite activities are playing guitar, rock climbing, and water sports. Growing up, many family outings included driving to a nearby lake and spending a few days tubing, water skiing, wakeboarding, and just cruising across the water. Seth was able to spend some time enjoying lakes and waterfalls in Indochina while he was there with REACH for the past two years.

Drawn to adventure and activity, Seth remembers enjoying the Prayer Challenge when his high school youth group went to City Challenge. “Before the Prayer Challenge I had heard about people going on prayer walks and I would have been encouraged to do that, but nobody was ever like, ‘oh, let’s go and do it’. But at City Challenge, going out and praying over new people and places was the purpose of the day – it made us put what we were learning into action,” Seth said. He looks forward to walking other high schoolers through this activity, taking them out of their comfort zones, and showing them how God can work through our prayers.

Please pray for continued strength and unity for Seth and the other Interns as they serve God at the RIC this year.
