Introducing Joe, Hospitality Assistant and Prayer Intern

By March 15, 2022March 21st, 2022No Comments

Rosedale International’s 2022 Interns are a group of young adults who will spend the year living and working at the Rosedale International Center (RIC). They will deepen their relationships with God and others, undergo discipleship training and outreach, and help facilitate the REACH and City Challenge programs. We’re looking forward to watching them grow in leadership, ministry, and service.

Rosedale International is excited to introduce Joe as part of our 2022 Intern team. This year, Joe will take on the roles of both Hospitality Assistant and Prayer Intern. He will work with Kristyn, RIC Director, to keep the RIC clean and welcoming for all who pass through. He will meet monthly with Mim, who served as RI’s Prayer Coordinator for nearly twenty years. He will lead weekly prayer times with the interns, spend time in prayer for RI, and coordinate prayer-related events for City Challenge and REACH.

Joe hails from the small town of Canton, Pennsylvania. A lover of art, he enjoys painting and drawing. He recently expanded his skillset to include digital art, and hopes to develop his photography ability this year.

Joe traveled to Indochina with REACH in 2019. Although his outreach experience was cut short by COVID-19, he gained lasting knowledge that strengthened his faith. “I came to realize the significance of God’s love for me and others,” he shared. “I learned how to love other people.” Discipleship training (DTS) in particular was a powerful experience for Joe. “I loved being in that community with people my own age who were on fire for Jesus.”

A little less than three years later, he’s back in this same community, and excited to build relationships with his teammates. “I wanted to be an intern when I went through REACH, but they didn’t ask me, so I thought that opportunity was over. Now I’m one hundred percent sure that this was what God wanted me to do.”

When asked how we can pray for him as he goes through internship, Joe shared that he’s struggled with insomnia for the past couple of years. In the midst of a fast-paced, ever-changing year, he hopes for deep rest and a return to regular sleep patterns.

Rosedale International is happy to welcome Joe to our Intern team. Join us in praying for him as he goes through this year—ask for both physical and spiritual rest, and that God would bless his work with Rosedale International.
