Simple Truth: A REACH Update

By February 15, 2020April 9th, 2021No Comments

I’ve been thinking a lot about simple truth lately.

As you look through these photos, I want you to place yourself in these moments. I want you to pull yourself out of the room you’re currently in and imagine you’re in these places, with these people.

What catches your eye at first glance? What colors do you see?

Who do you see? And what do you notice about them?

What do you think brings them joy?

What kinds of places do you think they live in?

What kinds of things do they do for work?

How do they spend their days?

What kinds of food do you think they like to eat and make?

Can you imagine what it would be like to live in their shoes for a day – doing what they do?

Can you wrap your mind around the fact that everyone has a unique and significant life just as much as you do?

That not even one day goes by that they are not growing, learning, and being influenced by the culture they were born into?

Do you see them?

I mean, do you see them?

Our purpose here is simple:

To be love to those around us;

To sacrifice our time and energy to share with them the love that they do not know yet;

To place ourselves in their midst;

To make ourselves less so they may become more;

To teach grace…

And truth.

So that they may see the light and no longer be in darkness.

This world and the rulers of this darkness will try and convince us that it’s impossible or that we will never be good enough to walk in this purpose.

But the simple truth is this: “The people who walk in darkness will see a great Light. For those who live in a land of deep darkness, a Light will shine.”

As sons and daughters we have this light. I urge you to go. Be love to your neighbors, your coworkers, your family, to other brothers and sisters. To the people whose lives are just as precious and valuable as yours.

Your purpose is the same as ours.
